Outpatient Referrals Physicians wishing to refer a patient to an individual specialist or service for an outpatient consultation should contact the specific physician or service directly.
If you need assistance making an appropriate referral, you can contact the department chair or division chief of the given specialty directly.
Appointments can be scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Change in Preregistration for All New Patients Effective immediately for Boston appointments and Floating Hospital Satellite appointments (Chelmsford, Woburn, and Framingham)
In order to ensure a smooth and pleasant patient experience, we are asking that all patients preregister in advance of any outpatient appointment or procedure.
To make this easy for referring physicians, office staff, and patients, we offer 3 easy ways to preregister after the patient appointment has been scheduled:

Call preregistration during normal business hours at 617-636-0084.

Fax a copy of the patient’s face sheet from your EMR to preregistration at 617-636-1046.

We strongly encourage you to use option 2, faxing a copy of the patient’s face sheet to preregistration. This will make the appointment process for your patients very easy.

To Admit a Patient To make an inpatient referral to Tufts Medical Center, please contact our ADT Center which coordinates all admissions, discharges and transfers 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The ADT Center number is 877-OK-TUFTS (877-658-8387).
