Tufts Medical Center benefits from the work of a number of organizations that raise money for specific programs or purposes at the hospital. Your support for any of these organizations is greatly appreciated.
- The Cam Neely Foundation for Cancer Care
Established in 1995 by Boston Bruins legend and National Hockey League Hall-of-Famer Cam Neely and his siblings, the Neely Foundation is dedicated to supporting cancer patients and their families. The Neely House opened in 1997 at Tufts Medical Center and provides a home-away-from-home for patients and families. The Neely Foundation has also established The Neely Center for Clinical Cancer Research, The Neely Cell Therapy and Collection Center, The Neely Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, The Neely Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic and The Michael Neely Neuroscience Center. The Neely Foundation has raised over $25 million since its inception. Learn more
- The Ace Bailey Children's Foundation
The Ace Bailey Children's Foundation is dedicated to supporting programs that ease the strain of hospitalization on infants, children and their families at the Floating Hospital for Children. It was established in memory of Garnet "Ace" Bailey, a former Boston Bruins hockey player, who was killed in the tragic events of September 11, 2001. In March 2006 "Ace's Place," the hospital's new play center, opened its doors. The Foundation then supported a renovation project in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Currently, the Foundation is raising funds to bring branches of the “Ace’s Place” play center to the Pediatric Emergency Department at Tufts Medical Center. The two new “Ace’s Place” facilities will provide spaces for children to play during visits to the emergency department. Learn more
- The Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute
The Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute at Tufts Medical Center opened in 1981, the nation's first regional trauma center devoted exclusively to children. The KPTI is a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center providing emergency care to children who suffer serious injuries. The KPTI is supported generously through chapters of Kiwanis clubs throughout New England generously support the KPTI. Learn more
- Cure Breast Cancer License Plate Initiative
The Cure Breast Cancer License Plate Initiative, a volunteer non-profit group, unveiled the first-ever Massachusetts Breast Cancer License Plates on October 31, 2006. All proceeds from plate sales directly benefit The Diane Connolly-Zaniboni Breast Cancer Research Fund at Tufts Medical Center. Learn more
- The Jennifer Creed Fund
The Jennifer Creed Fund has been helping families cope with the difficulties associated with childhood cancer since 1974. Through generous donations of time and money from individual and corporate sponsors, the Jennifer Creed Fund is able to offset costs for pediatric cancer families at Floating Hospital for Children that are not normally covered by insurance. These needs include parking vouchers, gas cards, T passes, meal vouchers and movie passes, as well as direct financial support around the holidays each year. Learn more
- The Michael H. Flanagan Foundation
The mission of the Michael H. Flanagan Foundation is to comfort bone marrow transplant and leukemia induction patients and their families and enhance the patients’ quality of life. The MHF Foundation provides “Comfort Bags” to each new leukemia induction patient and to those admitted to the BMT Unit. Since 2002, more than 350 patients have received a “Comfort Bag,” which includes phone cards, fleece hats, CleanRest blankets and pillows, music, journals, and other thoughtful items to help distract patients and pass the time during treatment. The MHF Foundation funded the renovation of a Family Room located across from the BMT Unit at Tufts Medical Center and recently purchased nine infusion chairs to outfit patient rooms on the unit. - The Jen Di Reeno Foundation
Founded in memory of Jen Di Reeno, who succumbed to melanoma in 1999, the Jen Di Reeno Foundation works to support teens and young adults grappling with cancer and other serious illnesses. Through fundraising efforts, Jen’s Room opened in 2005 and offers a unique place for teens and young adults to communicate openly with their peers. The lounge serves as a comfortable, safe environment to gather and share experiences with one another – or just as a place to hang out and have fun. In May 2011, a “sister” room named Jen’s Lounge opened and is located directly on the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. The Jen Di Reeno Foundation also supports a mobile computer and entertainment unit called FRECKLES that is available for use in the patient rooms of teens and young adults with cancer. Learn more
- Cops for Kids With Cancer
Founded by a retired Boston Police Captain and cancer survivor, Cops for Kids With Cancer raises funds for pediatric cancer patients and their families at Floating Hospital for Children. This vital support assists families with medical bills and other needs while a child undergoes treatment. Comprised of law enforcement officers and friends, the organization also invites patients to tour Boston Harbor each year on the Boston Police boat. Learn more
- Boston Guild of Oenophilists
The Boston Wine Expo, the largest trade and consumer wine event in New England for the past 20 years, offers wine enthusiasts an unparalleled educational and entertaining wine and food experience. The two-day event also makes a significant impact on the non-profit community, generating philanthropic dollars for organizations such as Tufts Medical Center. The Boston Guild of Oenophilists, that oversees the Boston Wine Expo, has provided valuable funding to our Summer Camp Program for Floating Hospital for Children patients with disabilities or complex medical needs. Funding from the Guild allows the Social Work Services department to provide campership grants to families who could not normally afford to send their child to a specialized camp. The Summer Camp Program has sent hundreds of young patients to specialized camps that allow the children to have an active summer camp experience. Learn more
- Teamsters Against Cancer
Founded by two friends and members of Teamsters Local 82, the mission of Teamsters Against Cancer is to educate patients and the community about appendiceal cancer and to raise money to fund research about this rare cancer. The fundraising efforts directly benefit the Peritoneal Surface Malignancy Program at Tufts Medical Center, which focuses on the research and education of appendiceal cancer. Learn more

From the Rockin’ Country Music Series at Hard Rock Café Boston to the American Pride Music Series at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill in Foxboro and the Country Music Healing Tour and beyond, Country 102.5 and its fans are raising funds and awareness for Floating Hospital for Children.
