The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Tufts Medical Center offers those individuals with cancer, individualized and specialized assistance with their care. We help by addressing any potential physical limitations and pain that may affect their quality of life and everyday function.
We treat both the pediatric and adult patient populations treated at Tufts Medical center both in the in-patient and out-patient settings. We see individuals with weakness, pain (acute/chronic), musculoskeletal conditions, spasticity and neurological conditions that are as a consequence of their cancer or the treatment process.
We provide diagnostic as well as preventative treatment plans; working with physical, occupational and speech therapists, we formulate therapy specific for the individual, maximizing their functional independence and improving and maintaining quality of life. Equipment needs are also addressed.
We are available to assist in the care of both inpatients and outpatients at Tufts Medical Center and Floating Hospital for Children. For more information, please call Suzanne White-Kelly, Department Administrator at 617-636-5625.
