The Women’s Heart Center specialists at Tufts Medical Center in Boston provide outpatient clinical services to women who have, or are at risk for, cardiovascular diseases. The Center’s goal is to improve the delivery of healthcare for women by providing consultative support to primary care physicians, as well as to cardiologists, regarding prevention, diagnosis, and management of women's heart disease.
The Center's heart specialist team is comprised of physicians with expertise in the management of lipid disorders and other cardiovascular risk factors, management of cardiac arrhythmias, and cardiovascular imaging/diagnostic testing for overall women's heart health. The staff includes internationally recognized experts in the area of estrogen effects on the cardiovascular system, with special clinical expertise in women's heart disease.
Our women's cardiac health services include consultation regarding prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases for women, who are either self-referred or referred by physicians in the community. Therapeutic decisions are made in conjunction with the patient and the community-based physician.
We place a major emphasis on patient education, providing educational materials to empower the patient to be actively involved in diagnostic, therapeutic, and life-style decisions.
Outpatient appointments may be scheduled at our Boston location (800 Washington Street, Boston, Massachusetts), or at Tufts Medical Center Imaging South (340 Wood Road, Braintree, Massachusetts). For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call 617-636-7681.
