Windhoek Drs. Michael R. Jordan , Steven Y. Hong , Christine Wanke , and Alice Tang are collaborating with Professors Lazarus Hangula and Peter Nyarango from the University of Namibia Medical School, and colleagues at the Republic of Namibia Ministry of Health and Social Services, and Dr. Magda Robalo, World Health Organization Representative in Namibia, to investigate optimization of antiretroviral therapy delivery utilizing the public health model of care. These studies are directed at improving ART adherence, long-term retention in care, and monitoring of HIV drug resistance.
Dr. Michael Jordan and Dr. Steven Y. Hong conduct operational and transitional research in the field of HIV and HIV drug resistance with the University of Namibia School of Medicine, the Namibia Ministry of Health and Social Services, and WHO Namibia. Current operational research examines aspects of HIV drug resistance, HIV knowledge, adherence to antiretroviral therapy and different methods of programmatic assessment with the goal of optimizing patient care in resource limited settings. |
