1. Does your program accept International Medical Graduates IMG’s)
Yes. In fact, 10 of our current residents are IMG’s
2. What are your criteria for International Medical Graduates?
All IMG’s must possess a valid ECFMG certificate in order to be considered for an interview.
3. What visa does your program sponsor?
Tufts Medical Center sponsors J-1 Visas.
4. Does your program have a graduation cut-off limitation?
No, there is no limit to the number of years since medical school graduation.
5. Is United States clinical experience required?
Although US clinical experience is certainly of benefit and increases the likelihood of an invitation to interview, it is not a requirement.
6. What re your USMLE score requirements?
We generally seek candidates with minimum scores of 200.
7. Do you require USMLE Step 2CS and CK in order to submit an application to your program?
We do not require this at the time of application; however, Step 2 must be completed by March of the start of the PGY-1 year.
8. Does your program offer a preliminary year of Internal Medicine Training?
The Tufts Neurology Residency Program offers four categorical (4 years including internship) positions and two non-categorical (three year residency only) positions. It is not necessary to apply separately for these positions.
9. How many letters of recommendations do you require?
A minimum of three letters of recommendation are requested.
10. How to I apply?
All applications are submitted through ERAS. Beginning September 1st, we will start the process of reviewing applications for interview consideration. Interviews will take place from November 2010 through January 2011 for the 2011 match.
