Magnetic Resonance Imaging Fellowship
The Fellowship Program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging at Tufts Medical Center offers a single one-year position. Completion of a residency program in radiology is required. The primary goal is to train the fellow to become independent in protocol development and interpretation of all areas of body MRI, including abdominal, breast, cardiac, and musculoskeletal. Elective time is offered so that fellows may pursue related interests. Although research is not required, interested fellows are encouraged to participate in multiple ongoing research projects in MRI.
Program Goals
The primary goal is to familiarize the fellow with reading all types of MRIs, including abdominal, breast, cardiac, musculoskeletal, and neuro. Although the MIR fellowship is not focused on research and research is not required, if a fellow is interested there are multiple ongoing research projects in MRI, including a cartilage MRI imaging project, globe imaging to redefine the model of the blood-aqueous barrier, and a polycystic kidney disease MRI imaging project.
Fellows are also encouraged to attend neuroradiology and orthopedic conferences.
