Adult Genetics Clinic
Adults with a family history of a genetic condition, or with infertility are seen at the Adult Genetics Clinic. A pedigree is obtained and the relevant medical records are reviewed. Diagnosis and recurrence risks are discussed.
In addition, our familiar cancer genetics clinic advises patients regarding their chances of inheriting a gene that predisposes them to the development of cancers such as breast, ovarian and colon. The risks, benefits and limitations of DNA testing for cancer are also discussed, for both individuals with cancer and their asymptomatic relatives.
