Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis

Our program’s goal is to facilitate the birth of a healthy infant in a family known to be at risk for genetic problems, including the prior documentation of a chromosome translocation in either parent, or prospective parents who carry single gene disorders such as cystic fibrosis or Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Initially, the couple receives genetic counseling and information about available reproductive options and initial genetic testing is performed. Subsequent embryo biopsy and testing is performed in consultation with an infertility center.
