Vascular Surgery

The Division of Vascular Surgery specializes in management of arterial disease of the aorta, carotid, mesenteric, renal and lower extremity arteries. Our physicians are all certified by the Vascular Surgery Board of the American Board of Surgery and are all Fellows of the American College of Surgeons. We provide expert evaluation and care in all areas of vascular disease management. Areas of particular note are operative open and endovascular arterial surgery and the diagnosis and treatment of chronic venous disease. The division has been a long standing, dedicated practice at Tufts Medical Center since its inception in 1966 and continues to treat more than 4,500 patients each year.
The clinical expertise and research interests of our vascular surgeons have resulted in significant contributions to the field through successes in research and clinical breakthroughs in the treatment of asymptomatic carotid disease, chronic venous disease, stem cell therapy, and the effect of estrogen on vascular pathology.
The Division of Vascular Surgery boasts strong collaborative relationships with cardiology, neurology, nephrology, interventional radiology and other medical subspecialty groups. The division performs specialized techniques such as the retroperitoneal and endovascular approach to complex aortic aneurysms as well as non-invasive procedures in a state of the art ICAVL-certified Vascular Noninvasive Imaging Lab.
