Weight loss surgery has a powerful impact on many areas of your life. Significant weight loss may affect your socialization, personal goals, occupational life, family dynamics and emotional well-being.
You must register for post-op support groups and obtain referrals from your behavioral health insurer.

Group: Gastric Bypass/Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy Support Groups
Location: Tufts Medical Center, Mezzanine
Schedule:
1st Monday of each month – 3-4 p.m.
1st Monday of each month – 6-7 p.m.
3rd Monday of each month - 6-7 p.m.
1st Wednesday of each month – 10-11 a.m.
1st Wednesday of each month – 6-7 p.m.
1st Thursday of each month – 12-1 p.m.
Group: Adjustable Gastric Band Support Group
Location: Tufts Medical Center, Mezzanine
Schedule:
1st Wednesday of each month – 6-7 p.m.
Group: Mixed Support Group
Location: Jordan Hospital (Plymouth, MA), Funkhouser Conference Room, Basement Level
Schedule:
4th Thursday of each month – 6-7 p.m.
Individual visits
On rare occasions, a patient may find that coming to the group session may be an unavoidable hardship due to job or distance. While we feel that the group experience is important to overall success in the program, in a few cases our behavioral staff will meet with you individually for counseling. This may apply to both pre-op preparation and to post-op support.
