The table below compares our results with that of other programs. We have worked very hard to achieve the results you see below. Please note that our reported complication rates are at or below those reported from elsewhere in the U.S. Please also note the dramatic decrease in complications achieved with experience. These good results were presented at the New England Surgical Society’s Annual Meeting in Montreal and will be published this fall in a respected surgical journal, Archives of Surgery.

Latest Surgical Data... On The Last 100 Operations
Of the last 100 gastric bypass surgeries completed at Tufts Medical Center:
- All were successfully completed laparoscopically – no open incisions
- There were no deaths
- Mean time to complete surgery was 97 minutes
- Mean “Length of Stay” was 2.9 days
- There were a total of 9 complications, most were minor, none were lethal
