"Laura is the social worker in the NICU and is a former recipient of Employee of the Month Award. I have worked collaboratively on several cases with Laura and know her to be a compassionate person and highly skilled and ethical professional.
Two months ago we worked together on the case of a newborn who unfortunately died of a brain tumor. Throughout the infant’s short life, Laura worked closely with the baby’s mother, but even more impressively, after the baby’s death, weeks after his tenure as an official patient at the NICU had ended, Laura continued to reach out and offer support to the baby’s mother. Just recently, Laura called me to ask about bereavement groups offered by the Pediatric Hematology Oncology Service.
I believe that Laura exemplifies the person-to-person compassion which is the foundation of good patient care.”
