Tufts MC True Blue Recipients: Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) team- Kristen Baker, RN, Pediatric BMT Nurse Coordinator; Deborah Black, RN, Allogeneic BMT Nurse Coordinator; Denise Larivee, RN, Autologous BMT Nurse Coordinator and FACT coordinator; Rhussel Pascual, BMT Quality Management Coordinator/Data Manager; and Christine Stunzenas; BMT Administrative Assistant
Nomination from Kellie Sprague, Director, Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplant Program:
“While there are many people who make up the Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplant Program at Tufts MC, these five individuals are the glue that holds everything together and makes it work. The nurses, Deb, Denise and Kristen, are on the ‘front line,’ with Christine and Rhussel making everything happen behind the scenes. They are the definition of teamwork, dedication, customer service and quality. They meet each patient and family at the very beginning of the BMT process and stay with them each step of the journey; they are the educators, the cheerleaders, the consolers.
“This team works tirelessly to provide the highest quality, patient-centered care to our BMT patients. ‘Not my job’ is not in their vocabulary. There is not enough space in this application to provide examples of how they practice the Tufts MC 12 Tenets; they do it every day. They are deeply committed to patients, the BMT program, Tufts MC and to each other. I am proud to have them as colleagues and friends.”
