“After only four years as the Business Operations Manager in the William B. Schwartz Division of Nephrology, Geneva Tucker has become the backbone of our division. Going above and beyond is the norm for Geneva. She works tirelessly and enthusiastically, tackling any task and taking on additional responsibility whenever it is needed, all with a big smile and a positive attitude. She respects everyone she works with and encourages them to respect each other. Through ups and downs, she constantly and consistently displays her wonderful temperament—an excellent role model for us all.
“Geneva is extremely skilled in the administrative and financial roles required for success in her position. Her skill and creativity have allowed us to expand our practice and more importantly to improve access and quality of care for our patients and their families. These traits also enable her to easily gain the cooperation of others whom she must enlist in accomplishing the work. She is thorough, timely and persistent in her follow-up until the job is done. She often responds to questions within minutes, even when the message is sent well past normal working hours. Her can-do attitude makes her unflappable.
“Optimizing human resources is one of Geneva’s major strengths. She is extraordinary at hiring, mentoring staff and providing feedback for staff who are struggling to improve. In the past year, when we had several staff vacancies, Geneva worked with her usual calmness and efficiency. She helped develop and implement plans for coverage, ensuring that staff continued to feel valued, were not overworked and, most importantly, that patients were well cared for. Geneva’s confidence, human resource skills and calm demeanor stabilize changing situations and allow for smooth transitions.
