IRB office
Tufts MC True Blue Recipient: The Tufts Health Sciences Institutional Review Board (IRB) Office
Pictured— IRB Coordinator for Minimal Risk Research Anya Barytol, MA was chosen by her colleagues to represent the team:
Julie Morelli Novak, Director of IRB Operations
Christine M. Choy, MA, IRB Supervisor and Database Administrator
Nila Mitra, JD, IRB Analyst and Scientific Review Coordinator
Tori Zupkofska, IRB Analyst
Kimberly Garabedian, IRB Analyst
Alison Rosin, Assistant IRB Coordinator for Minimal Risk Research
Nomination from Susan Blanchard, Vice President, Research Administration:
“The [Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protections Program] panel selected over 50 people to interview [during their site visit] from our submitted list of investigators, administrators and clinical research coordinators.
“The IRB Office ensured that each of the selected individuals was appropriately prepared for their interview and managed the two-day process flawlessly. At the end of the visit, it was obvious to the expert panel that our IRB office was exceptional and that our program lives our policies and procedures every day.
“The panel noted they would be taking some of our ideas, including adding a pharmacist to their committees, back to their own institutions. They commented, ‘We rarely see such a positive relationship between the IRB Office and research teams.’”
Congratulations, IRB team!
