Prospective observational study to assess association between time in target Flowtrac/EV1000 data with clinical outcomes in cardiac surgery patients (Connected Insights). The new study application will investigate a minimally invasive device (Flotrac sensor with EV1000 clinical platform) from Edwards Life Science in cardiac surgery patients.  The EV1000 device is already being used at Tufts Medical Center in the operating rooms and ICUs to guide fluid resuscitation and medicine administration in critically ill patients.

Study Details

Inclusion Criteria

  • Adult patients age 18 and over
  • All cardiac surgeries lasting two or more hours from time of induction

Exclusion Criteria

  • Has mechanical support device (intra-aortic balloon pump, ventricular assist device, Impella, or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation)
  • VAD implantation; Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) / Right Ventricular Assist Device (RVAD) implants
  • Orthotopic heart transplantation

Study Requirements

Study lasts from signing the consent to the end of cardiac surgery. This is minimal risk study involving only data collection during the procedure.
