The purpose of this research is to enhance and support our understanding and evaluating actual response behaviors of cognitive disability in realistic tasks. We hope to obtain more information about the response behaviors to stimuli during simulated driving of a typical cohort compared to post-stroke cohorts.
Inclusion Criteria
- have a history of unilateral, supratentorial, ischemic or hemorrhage stroke
- have unilateral lower extremity paresis (weakness of one of your lower limbs)
- are able to walk independently with or without the use of assistive devices or orthoses (e.g. braces, splints)
Exclusion Criteria
- Have vision problems (partial/full blind)
- Are significantly cognitive aging.
- Are not medically stable
Study Requirements
We are asking you to be in this study in order to obtain more information about the response behaviors to stimuli during simulated driving of a typical cohort compared to post-stroke cohorts. Participants will be asked to complete a pre-exposure and post-exposure Motion Sickness Symptom Checklist, use a driving simulator for 10 minutes per test, and have their physiological signals monitored using sensors. The total time of the session will be around 2 hours. The participant will receive a $20 Amazon gift card at the end of participation.
