Overview

We're doing a study to see how belly fat affects blood vessels in men and women. We want to find out if there are any differences and how this affects heart health. This will help us come up with better ways to prevent and treat heart disease.

Study Details

Inclusion Criteria

1) Non-smoker 2) Waist size larger than 35 inches for women and larger than 40 inches for men 3) No history of cardiovascular disease 

Exclusion Criteria

1) Smoker 2) History of heart attack, stroke, diabetes 3) Waist size equal to or less than 35 inches for for women, and equal to or less than 40 inches for men

Study Requirements

This study requires one 5 hour visit to Tufts Medical Center where we will measure your blood pressure, height, weight, blood vessel function and perform a blood draw.
