The PN Program was once again named a beneficiary of the Avon Foundation’s AVON39 walk! The walk, which is the equivalent of a marathon and a half, took place in Boston July 9 and 10, and raised $3 million for breast cancer survivors and thrivers. Dr. Susan Parsons, founding director of the PN Program was on hand at the closing ceremony to thank the 39ers who had been walking for the past two days and accept the award on behalf of the PN team! Dr. Parsons was joined by navigators, Daqin Mao, Ming Lin and Feng Wang, and program evaluator Rachel Murphy-Banks.
Navigators work closely with patients of Chinese origin to ensure they are provided with support to overcome cultural, language and/or socio-economic barriers to quality cancer care. In addition to English, our navigators speak Mandarin, Cantonese and Toishanese, and are available in the Cancer Center, Monday-Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. Click here for more information.
