Meet Andreas Klein, MD

03/20/2017

Andreas Klein, MD is an oncologist at Tufts Medical Center.

Why did you go into cancer care?
From the very beginning of medical school I was fascinated by the origins of cancer on the molecular level and the role our immune system may play in protecting us from cancer. As I matured as a physician, I came to appreciate the intimacy of cancer care and continue to be motivated by the relationships I build with my patients.

What makes the Tufts Cancer Center special?
Buildings are just structures, it is the people who work here – my colleagues, the nurses, clinic staff – that make Tufts a unique place.

Tell us one interesting fact about yourself.
I love the ocean and boats – I trained as a naval architect and took a year off of medical school to work on the 1992 America’s Cup campaign for the winning team, America!
