Meet Hande Tuncer, MD

03/20/2017

Hande H. Tuncer, MD is the Director of the Benign Hematology Program at Tufts Medical Center in downtown Boston, MA.

Why did you go into cancer care?
The science of cancer has always allured me as it is vast, complex and ever-changing. It is an ideal study for those who constantly crave intellectual challenge.

What makes the Tufts Cancer Center special?
Although this was my initial motive years ago when I decided to seek formal training in oncology, I have discovered that there are even bigger perks of being an oncologist which gives one a unique privilege to touch people’s lives at a deeper and lasting level. Tufts Cancer Center is a special institution where cutting edge, multidisciplinary cancer medicine meets extraordinary personal care.

Tell us one interesting fact about yourself.
I am thrilled to rejoin to the Division of Hematology/Oncology team in January 2017; exactly 10 years after completion of my fellowship training here at Tufts.
