Why did you go into cancer care?
Cancer has always fascinated me. We know so much and yet we understand so little. My grandmother passed away from breast cancer when I was a freshman in high school and no one could explain to me why cancer happens. How does and why do our bodies degenerate into cancer cells? What’s the trigger? How can we stop it from taking place. While in residency, these questions lead me to study the immunologic response of melanoma. I continue to search for ways to prevent cancer from taking place.
