MIRI Executive Director Perrie O’Tierney-Ginn, PhD, will attend the American Association (AAMC) Mid-Career Women Faculty Leadership Seminar in December, 2022. She and Dr. Agnieszka Trzcinka of Tufts Medical Center were accepted and supported by the Tufts PO Women in Medicine and Science Committee to attend.
The seminar will equip women physicians and scientists in a variety of meaningful ways to surmount obstacles to career advancement and gender equity that continue to be prevalent. Workshops include persuasive communication, negotiation, enhancing visibility, strategic career transitions and planning, and funding the academic mission.
According to seminar organizers, “Women faculty continue to be underrepresented in leadership positions within the physician and scientific workforce; yet their contributions and achievements are positively impacting the way our community perceives, practices, and engages with each other."
