Joel Oster, MD joining Tufts MC

The Neurology Department at Tufts Medical Center is pleased to announce the imminent arrival of Joel Oster, MD to join the Epilepsy Center

Dr. Oster is a native Bostonian. He graduated from the Boston Latin School and then did a 7-year combined program at Boston University where he earned his BA and MD. His neurology training was at Tufts-New England Medical Center – he was the Chief Resident in his final year. He then completed a fellowship in EEG/epilepsy at Harvard/MGH. He has been practicing at the Lahey Clinic since 2002. 

In addition to Board certification in neurology, he holds additional certificates of training in epilepsy, sleep, and intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring. Joel will play a major role in the Neurology Department. He will see outpatients with seizures and with sleep disorders in collaboration with the Pulmonary Division. He will help to expand EEG monitoring in the inpatient setting in the Neely Neurosciences Center and throughout the hospital. He will collaborate with several surgical specialties to provide intraoperative monitoring for vascular, spine, and intracranial surgeries. He will join the Department full-time in May, 2015.
