Tufts Medical Center’s renowned CardioVascular Center is second to none — in fact, we’re first in New
England in the number of heart transplants performed over the past eight years.
Our cardiac surgeons have also pioneered the use of ventricular-assist devices or VADs, devices implanted to help bridge heart failure patients to a transplant or, in some cases, prevent the need for a heart transplant. Our Cardiomyopathy Unit is one of only two in the country where patients waiting for heart transplants or adapting to their VADs get the high-level of care they need so they aren’t confined to an intensive care unit. And our new hybrid operating room shown here offers the most advanced equipment available for the latest cardiac procedures.
It’s heartwarming to know that such great cardiovascular care is available right in your neighborhood.
