Boston Athletic Association to increase number of bibs for Team Tufts MC in 2019
BOSTON (September 10) – Tufts Medical Center announced today that it has been accepted into the Boston Marathon Official Charity Program, and for the sixth consecutive year. The Boston Athletic Association has provided Tufts Medical Center with 60 invitational entries in the 2019 Boston Marathon – an increase of 10 bibs from previous years.
“We are thrilled that the Boston Athletic Association has recognized and rewarded the success of Team Tufts MC over the past five years,” said Deeb Salem, MD, Co-Interim CEO of Tufts Medical Center and Floating Hospital for Children. “With an additional 10 bibs for the 2019 Boston Marathon, we will be able to enlist the passion and dedication of even more Team Tufts MC runners in support of Tufts MC, Floating Hospital and our mission to patients and families.”
Over the past five years, Team Tufts MC has raised nearly $1.7M to support Tufts Medical Center’s mission of providing exceptional patient care to our community, teaching the next generation of clinicians and conducting cutting edge research to find new treatments for the future. This year, the team aims to raise $450,000.
