Faces of Tufts Medical Center: Nina Dadlez, MD, MSc

Nina Dadlez is a Pediatric HospitalistWe spoke with Pediatric Hospitalist and Medical Director of Quality, Nina Dadlez, MD, MSc, to learn more about what it means to be a leader and advocate in the medical field and why she thinks more women should become leaders in medicine.

When did you know you wanted to become a doctor?

I have wanted to be a pediatrician since second grade, because I knew I wanted to help sick children. I volunteered with our local pediatric oncology group to put on events for children with cancer in elementary and middle school and volunteered in local hospitals as a high school student.

Are there any challenges you have had to face as female physician?

There are times when patients assume that female clinicians are nurses rather than doctors.

Why do you think more women should become leaders in medicine?

Women are intelligent, compassionate, collaborative, and driven. They can lead the next generation of medicine to a successful future.
