Last month, Tufts Medical Center and Floating Hospital for Children became the first medical center in Boston to launch InQuicker, a new application on our websites that allows patients with minor, non-life-threatening emergencies to check-in for an estimated treatment time. This innovative approach enhances patient experience by allowing patients to wait for their appointment at home instead of in the Emergency Department waiting room.
InQuicker’s implementation was the result of a collaborative effort between the Emergency Department, Information Systems, Finance, Ambulatory and Public Affairs and Communications teams.
Early feedback from patients and staff has been overwhelmingly positive. Employees have been impressed by the simplicity of the process, while the first two patient response surveys included comments such as, “very efficient process” and “I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.”
