A profile of one of our amazing donors: Ruth Bramson

In 2003 Tufts Medical Center Governor, Ruth Bramson, learned that the Medical Center was opening Pratt Diagnostic Center (PDC). Immediately, she and her husband, Shelly, became members of this new concierge service.

PDC is a different kind of medical practice. The Bramsons love having a physician always on-call for them to contact, and a CD of their complete medical histories, which works well for world travelers like them.

But what sets PDC apart from other concierge medical practices is that the annual membership fee doesn’t go to the physicians, but instead helps fund medical care at the hospital for patients who are less fortunate. “It was a slam dunk decision,” Ruth says. “It made so much sense for us, personally and philanthropically.”

In 2010, Ruth and PDC Director, Brian Cohen, MD, hosted a reception for PDC members and people interested in learning more about the practice.
