Working Wonders for Tufts Medical Center 2014

More than 800 guests attended Working Wonders for Tufts Medical Center at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center on Wednesday, March 26 to raise critical unrestricted funds for Tufts Medical Center and Floating Hospital for Children. Attendees celebrated three outstanding honorees: Governor Deval Patrick, Floating Hospital patient and four-time cancer survivor Allison Hawkes and Chinatown’s beloved ‘Mayor’, Frank Chin.

The night was full of special moments.  Former Tufts Medical Center president and chief executive officer Ellen M. Zane presented the Ellen M. Zane Award for Visionary Leadership to Governor Deval Patrick in appreciation of the extraordinary impact he has had on health care in Massachusetts and beyond.

Cam Neely was in the room to present the second annual Cam Neely Award for Courage to Allie Hawkes. Allie was also surprised with a personal video message from her favorite country music star, Luke Bryan, whom she met last year thanks to event media sponsor and hospital partner, Country 102.5 WKLB.

The evening ended on a high note with former Boston mayor Thomas Menino taking to the stage with a touching recognition of his good friend and colleague, Lifetime Achievement Award winner Frank Chin, for all he has done for Tufts Medical Center and the Chinatown community.
