BOSTON – Ellen M. Zane, President and CEO of Tufts Medical Center, announced today that Thomas J. Hollister, COO, CFO and Director of Global Partners LP, will serve as Chairman of the Medical Center’s Board of Trustees.

His insight and strategic vision will provide outstanding leadership as our Board continues to steer our institution through growth and a changing health care environment.”
Hollister succeeds Joseph Campanelli, President and CEO of Flagstar Bancorp. Campanelli chaired Tufts Medical Center’s Board of Trustees for five years and will remain a member of the Board.

Hollister has been a member of the Board for five years and had served as chair of the Board’s Governance Committee. At Global Partners LP, Hollister helps lead a Fortune 500 company with 2008 sales of $9 billion. Headquartered in Waltham, Global Partners is the leading independent wholesale distributor of gasoline, diesel fuel, bio-fuel, heating oil, other refined petroleum products and natural gas in the Northeast. Prior to joining Global Partners, Hollister was a Vice Chairman of Citizens Financial Group, the $140 billion U.S. arm of The Royal Bank of Scotland. Hollister has deep roots in Massachusetts business, beginning his banking career at Bank of Boston in 1979.
A Boston resident, Hollister serves on a variety of boards in addition to Tufts Medical Center’s Board of Trustees, including the Board of Global Partners LP and of Brookline Bancorp. He is the former Chair of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce and remains on the Chamber’s Executive Committee. He is a Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of Wheaton College and is the Chair of the Initiative for a New Economy. He is a member of the Commercial Club of Boston and the Massachusetts Historical Society and the Boston Athenaeum.
