Tufts Medical Center patients can now easily find doctors and schedule appointments online using ZocDoc

Tufts Medical Center introduces a new service to its patients, offering instant online access to appointments with Tufts MC leading physicians. At launch, the service provides patients with online appointments with Primary Care, OB/GYN and Dermatology.  Additional doctors, specialties, and appointment times will be added in coming months.

This service is powered by ZocDoc – a company with a mission of improving healthcare access, which is made possible through strategic partnerships with organizations like Tufts Medical Center.

To use the free service, patients should visit and use the “Book Online” button found on department and physician pages. Patients can then see each doctor’s schedule, along with qualifications, patient reviews, photos, and more tools to help patients choose the practitioner who best fits their needs. Patients simply select a timeslot and complete a brief checkout process to book an appointment. Patients will also receive email and text message appointment reminders for added convenience. The service eliminates time-consuming phone calls so that patients can book with Tufts MC doctors anytime, even when the doctor’s office is closed.

Providing the ZocDoc service is in line with Tufts Medical Center’s mission of placing patients and their families at the center of everything that the hospital does. It helps Tufts MC to provide the highest standard of care in an easier and more convenient way.

Boston residents wait more than 45 days on average for medical appointments, according to a study by healthcare search and consulting firm Merritt Hawkins. This unique system shows doctors’ availability in real-time, and makes it instantly accessible online. The system thus reduces wait times for patients and increases efficiency for medical providers. The typical ZocDoc appointment takes place in under 24 hours.
