BOSTON – The Boston Bruins announced today, November 7, that the team has partnered with O.R.G. Packaging, GEICO and EchoStor on three unique score-for-charity initiatives this season. For every point scored by David Pastrnak this season, O.R.G. Packaging will make a donation to the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center. For every faceoff won by Patrice Bergeron, GEICO will make a donation to his charity, Patrice’s Pals. And for every goal scored by the Bruins this year, EchoStor will make a donation to the Boston Bruins Foundation. Each of these performance-based initiatives reflects a commitment from the Bruins and their partners to give back to the community. More information on each can be found below.
O.R.G. Packaging, whose partnership with the Bruins will continue through 2020, has entered into a one-year commitment to make a charitable donation for every point scored by forward David Pastrnak this season. Donations will benefit the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center through the Boston Bruins Foundation. This new partnership will complement the existing relationship between China-based O.R.G. Packaging and Pastrnak, who visited Beijing this summer to help promote the game of hockey and endorses one of O.R.G.’s products, Want Want Milk.
GEICO, who has been a partner of the Boston Bruins since the 2011-12 season, has pledged to make a charitable donation for every faceoff won by forward Patrice Bergeron this season. Donations will benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation and Patrice’s Pals, which brings patients from local hospitals and other children's organizations to TD Garden to experience a Bruins home game where these deserving children are able to feel the excitement of a professional hockey game as VIP guests. Not only do the children watch the game in the official Patrice's Pals luxury suite, which includes dinner, beverages and one of the best seats in the entire Garden, but they also receive a personalized video recognition on the Garden HDX Scoreboard. To make this experience even more memorable, each child receives an individual goodie bag with Boston Bruins memorabilia. To boot, Patrice personally meets each participant in the Patrice's Pals program, signing autographs and taking pictures. In addition to this score-for-charity initiative, GEICO has partnered with Patrice for the 2016-2017 season on some unique content that is set to air around this year’s Winter Classic for the first time.
EchoStor, whose partnership with the Bruins will continue through 2018, has once again agreed to make a charitable donation to the Boston Bruins Foundation for every Bruins goal scored this season. In 2015-16, EchoStor donated $25,000 to the Boston Bruins Foundation through this initiative. The Boston Bruins Foundation is a non-profit organization that assists charitable organizations that demonstrate a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for children throughout New England.
