Kara Greer named VP of Human Resources

Kara GreerKara Greer, MA, an experienced human resources executive in the health care, hospitality and insurance industries, has been chosen to lead HR efforts at Tufts Medical Center and Floating Hospital for Children. She starts October 7, 2019. 

Greer joins Tufts MC from Liberty Mutual Insurance, where she served as Vice President and Manager of Talent, Strategy and Planning. Prior to that she served as Vice President, Human Resources, Talent Management & Learning for Ochsner Health System, a non-profit, academic, health system in New Orleans, Louisiana consisting of more than 25 hospitals and over 15,000 employees. There she led system performance, succession and talent review efforts aligned to leveraging talent and building bench strength across all disciplines. She also led strategic HR efforts to increase employee engagement and implemented a nationally recognized Leadership Institute which moved performance metrics in patient satisfaction, employee engagement and leadership effectiveness. Kara also brings experience in service and operational excellence, talent acquisition and other HR functions from The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.

In the role as Vice President of Human Resources, Greer will lead human resource efforts for the Medical Center’s 5,900 staff members, including employee and leadership development, strategic workforce planning, talent acquisition, and performance management.

Greer received her Master of Arts in Public Policy and Management from the University of Southern Maine and her undergraduate degree from Tulane University.  She’s served as adjunct faculty for a number of colleges including Clark University and Tulane.
