Infectious Disease Fellowship Testimonial

09/11/2013

A training alumni of Tufts Medical Center."The Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Tufts Medical Center provided me with essential skills to practice as an Infectious Disease Physician in an academic setting. In addition to clinical training in general infectious diseases the opportunity to gain exposure to clinical infectious diseases in the areas of HIV, transplantation and critical care have been invaluable. The infectious diseases fellowship provided me with over 2 years to essentially dedicate to acquiring the skills to undertake research and being able to perform multiple research projects. As this was the first period in my training where so much of my time could be dedicated to research, the skills acquired through the MPH program and mentorship from different faculty and support staff within the ID division were crucial to the success of my research projects and my PhD. This research largely focused on HIV clinical research in the USA and India and has led to me continuing with a career in academic infectious diseases that combines clinical research with the practice of clinical infectious diseases."
