Horacio Hojman, MD graduated from the Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He completed a surgical residency at the at Sanatorio Güemes Hospital and fellowship in Cardiovascular Surgery at Hospital Argerich, both in Buenos Aires. After coming to the United States, he completed a surgical residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY and a fellowship in Trauma and Critical Care at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.

Before coming to Tufts Medical Center, Dr. Hojman had appointments as an attending surgeon at the UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, MA, Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT, and the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC.

In July 2009, Dr. Hojman joined the staff at Tufts Medical Center as the Associate Chief of the Trauma Division and Attending Trauma Surgeon. He also holds an academic position as Assistant Professor of Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine.

In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Hojman is involved in a variety of clinical research and is an author of numerous articles and book chapters. He has a strong interest in ethics, medical informatics, and medical education.
