Jason Nelson, MPH is a statistician in the Biostatistics Research Center in the Institute for Clinical Research and Health Policy Studies (ICRHPS) at Tufts Medical Center. Since 2007, through the Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design (BERD) Center, Mr. Nelson has provided statistical research support and data management to clinical researchers throughout the Tufts Medical Center community as well as to collaborators at other institutions. As data analyst and SAS programmer Mr. Nelson performs statistical analyses of clinical trials, longitudinal observational datasets, administrative claims databases, large population demographic surveys and national hospital survey databases. He has a broad understanding of statistical methods including regression and predictive modeling, time-to-event and competing risks analyses, repeated measures and correlated data, as well as spatial analysis of geographic information. He collaborates with several investigators on Tufts- and NIH-funded research grants in a wide range of health-related fields of research including comparative effectiveness, patient centered outcomes research, health policy, population health and epidemiology. Mr. Nelson received his MPH in biostatistics and epidemiology from Tufts University School of Medicine.
