Reporting to the Director of the Predictive Analytics and Comparative Effectiveness (PACE) Center, Ms. Jennifer Lutz supports PACE operations in key project and administrative functions to ensure smooth operations and continued program growth. She coordinates a wide-range of research program functions within PACE. Working with the Director and with research faculty and staff, she is responsible for the coordination and oversight of work timelines and staffing distribution of effort, is the point of contact with funding agencies and collaborators, and provides support to members of collaborating industry partners. Ms. Lutz is involved many of Dr. Kent’s research projects including the Risk of Paradoxical Embolism (RoPE) Study (R01NS062153), the Targeted Antithrombotic Therapy in Cryptogenic Stroke and PFO (TAcTiCS-PFO) Study (R21 NS079826) Study, and the Assessing and Reporting Heterogeneity of Treatment Effect in Randomized Clinical Trials Study (1IP2PI000722). Ms. Lutz was also a research assistant for a Pre-Hospital Quality Improvement (QI) Project which developed and tested EMS stroke performance measures with hospitals and emergency medical services (EMS) across Massachusetts, in collaboration with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH). Prior to joining ICRHPS in 2008, Ms. Lutz worked as a secondary science educator at Braintree High School where she taught Anatomy & Physiology and Physical Science from 2006 to 2008, and was a research laboratory technician at Massachusetts General Hospital from 2004 to 2005. She earned a Masters of Arts in Teaching at Boston University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Boston College.
