For the past 34 years, I have been in clinical practice in pulmonary, sleep and internal medicine at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham(formerly Glover Memorial Hospital), where I served as Medical Director of Pulmonary for 32 years and of the Sleep Lab for 13 years. At Tufts I will be focused on the Center for Sleep Medicine, caring for patients and teaching. I received my medical degree from the National University of Mexico in Mexico City and remain relatively fluent in Spanish. My residency was at Kings County Hospital in Brookline and fellowship at Boston Medical Center (when it was Boston City Hospital and University Hospital). My clinical interests include sleep disordered breathing, parasonias, environmental and occupation sleep and pulmonary disorders and advances in the treatment of asthma and COPD with an interest in percision medicine. In addition, l have an interest in learning and utilizing new technologies such as telemedicine, wearables, and blockchain information exchange. Personally, I enjoy time with family--wife, children and grandchildren
I am a loyal fan of the Boston sports teams and welcome traveling and exploring new places and people, especially on foot.
