Raza Malik is an internationally recognized expert in the area of Liver Diseases. He is the Director of Hepatology and Associate Chief, Division of Gastroenterology at Tufts Medical Center. He has developed a multidisciplinary Liver Disease program that provides excellent clinical care for patients. A distinguished clinician and productive translational researcher, Dr Malik has made important research findings in the field of non-invasive diagnosis of liver fibrosis & cirrhosis, Hepatitis B & C, NASH, Liver Failure and Liver Cancer. Between Oct 2009 and Apr 2019, he served as Staff Physician & Attending in Hepatology and Transplant Hepatology for Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians. In this role as Medical Director of the Hepatology & Hepatobiliary Program at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, he set up and developed the nationally recognized multidisciplinary programs in Liver Failure and Liver Cancer. Prior to this he was a Staff Physician in Hepatology on the Faculty of Medicine at the Royal Free & University College Hospital, University College London.

Training: Dr Malik completed his MD at Kings College London and PhD in Liver Cell Biology and Hepatology at University College London. He completed training in internal medicine, intensive care medicine and general gastroenterology in the UK (Kings College Hospital, Royal Free Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare, Royal London Hospital and Cambridge University Hospital). He completed advanced training in hepatology and transplantation medicine at the Roger Williams Liver Unit at Kings College Hospital, the Sheila Sherlock Liver Unit at the Royal Free Hospital and at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School.
