The American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP®) has recognized Lowell General Hospital as one of 89 ACS NSQIP participating hospitals that have achieved meritorious outcomes for surgical patient care in 2019.  As a participant in ACS NSQIP, Lowell General is required to track the outcomes of inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures and collect data that assesses patient safety and can be used to direct improvement in the quality of surgical care.

It was April 8, 2018, and Dana Corr was looking forward to celebrating his 55th birthday that day with his wife and two daughters in their Westford home. He had just returned from a trip visiting colleges in Rhode Island the day before with his daughter. Unfortunately, all celebrations were put on hold that day as his heart seemed to have other plans.
