On Thursday, May 11, hospital leadership celebrated the accomplishments of our Patient Care Services team at the annual Nursing Excellence Awards held in the Clark Auditorium at the main campus. The event, held during Nurses Week, honors those who exemplify the unwavering commitment to patient care that is a hallmark of the nursing profession. Honorees were nominated for the award by their peers.
In September, Lija Joseph, MD, FASCP, FACP, Lowell General Hospital’s Chief of Pathology and Medical Director of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, had two unique opportunities to share about the Lowell General Patient Pathology Consult Program that she founded in 2017.

Lowell General Hospital has received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke quality achievement award at both the Main and Saints campuses for our commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, ultimately leading to more lives saved and reduced disability. The Main campus received Gold Plus status, while the Saints campus achieved Silver Plus status.
