Department research

Cardiology research is a vital part of our work and clinical care. Our cardiologists are members of a wide range of heart research teams that are working on projects that may have a real impact on patient care and outcomes.

In particular, our participation in the Molecular Cardiology Research Institute has yielded a number of influential results in the molecular mechanisms of human cardiovascular disease and translation of bench findings to new bedside strategies for diagnosis and therapy.

Dr. Herbert J. Levine Foundation for Cardiovascular Clinical Research

Giving

Gifts to the Levine Foundation provide invaluable assistance both to renowned cardiac researchers and to promising young clinical investigators and cardiologists-in-training at Tufts Medical Center. Philanthropy enables us and MCRI to launch new projects that will have a direct bearing on improving outcomes for patients.

A contribution designated for this area is an investment in saving the lives of the patients and families in our care and in the training of the next generation of cardiovascular physician leaders.

Our leadership

Our leadership team gives us the guidance and support we need to ensure that the clinical, research and training goals of the department are met.
