Tufts Medical Center’s (Tufts MC) Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery in Boston has a proud tradition of providing outstanding surgical expertise while maintaining a strong commitment to meeting the needs of our patients and their families.

The division specializes in the treatment of colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, physiological disorders of the colon and rectum and the broad spectrum of anorectal disorders.

Tufts MC is on the front lines of surgical technology, using the latest techniques that result in fewer complications and a faster recovery. For example, we perform laparoscopic colectomies on a routine basis. We are also one of the few places in Boston performing single-port and reduced-port laparoscopic surgery, which typically results in 1 small scar and less pain.
