Endocrinology Fellowship Program - Faculty

The faculty in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Tufts Medical Center provide the highest standards of care for patients with endocrine disorders and are dedicated to teaching the next generation of endocrinologists.

Our multidisciplinary clinical team of physicians, advance care practitioners, nurses and clinical pharmacists is dedicated to providing exemplary patient-centered care with compassion and expertise and do so in efficient coordination with other specialists and the patient’s primary care provider. Many providers are consistently ranked among the Top Doctors in the Boston area and nationally.

Ceglia

  • Dr. Ceglia is a great mentor.. She is very approachable and she is always trying to teach despite how busy we can be. Really easy to work with. She set up expectations since the beginning of the year and on every patient encounter we discuss every details about diagnosis and treatment options. She is very kind and compassionate with patients.

Kung

  • It's been an absolute pleasure working with Dr. Kung. She is extremely disciplined which is in fact very helpful in organizing our patient charts which are specifically complicated. It's because of her that I have developed a special interest in thyroid subspecialty of endocrine. She has been very patient with us all this time especially during FNA procedures and while performing ultrasound which is time consuming in first place
  • Dr. Kung is aspirational in every aspect. She is an excellent mentor that puts so much of her time into teaching us and improving our knowledge. She is thorough, knowledgeable, patient and kind. She is everything I aspire to be as a physician. She is genuinely caring and over the past 2 years has been very invested in our well being.
  • Dr. Kung sets a high level of expectations for clinic and consults. She is tough but fair and always willing to help. If we ever had a clinical question, she always remembered to answer it or send us an email with a pertinent paper. I really appreciate her clinical style and undoubtedly I will adapt her style as my own going forward.
  • Dr. Kung is an excellent teacher and physician. Her passion for teaching is very clear. She is very patient even in the most troublesome times. She always checks in with the fellows on a regular basis about their overall experience and ways to improve it

Lechan

  • Dr. Lechan is a go-to attending for all challenging neuroendocrine cases. All the fellows can learn from his sharp thought process as well as thorough examination skills. He is also highly trusted by the patients.
  • Dr. Lechan is one of the best role models I have ever worked with in my career so far. He always puts the patient first before anything else. His compassion, knowledge base, and leadership skills are truly admirable. He promotes self education and encourages us to go further than we believe we can.
  • I am honored I had the opportunity to learn from Dr. Lechan and benefit from his expertise. He is a great mentor and is always invested in our learning.

Siegel

  • Dr. Siegel is a role model with broad knowledge in medicine in general and in endocrine specifically. He teaches all trainees enthusiastically.
  • Dr. Siegel is an excellent physician and role model. He is very approachable and willing to help. One can learn a great deal through his interactions with patients and incorporating them in their medical management.
  • Dr. Siegel manages patients' care efficiently. He incorporates the best available evidence into our clinical decisions. He demonstrate mastery on different topics, including other specialties issues. He usually discuss the most updated information with us on every clinic session. On service rounds, he takes the time to evaluate every patient with us in a systematic way. On clinic, he spends the time necessary to advise and counsel patients with us very approachable, respectful and knowledgeable physician.

Pittas

  • Dr. Pittas focused on teaching the fellows and other rotators, as well as leading the whole division in a most harmonic way possible. Beside the enthusiasm in teaching and researching, he also listens to the trainees to make improvement to the fellowship program as needed.
  • I have worked with Dr Pittas for a very brief time but have always enjoyed working with him. He has an inspiring personality not only professionally but also personally. He keeps a friendly environment around him and thus no one feels intimated in asking any sort of questions. He is always up to date with the most recent advances and the ongoing research. I look forward to working under his guidance on a more frequent basis during my second year of training.

Erenler

  • Dr. Erenler is always enthusiastic in teaching and demonstrates broad endocrine knowledge. She also gave the fellows useful information about different learning opportunities outside of Tufts.
  • Very kind and supportive of fellows while on consults. Thorough and takes every chance she can to teach residents and fellows.

Saraswat

  • Its always a pleasure to work with Dr. Saraswat though we get to work with her only during our inpatient rotations. She is a balanced person and is a great mentor in helping prioritizing things. Thoroughly enjoyed working with her.
  • Dr. Saraswat is very easy-going attending who empowers the fellows in making recommendation decisions for the consult service while also making sure every aspect of the case is looked at. She is willing to teach both the fellows and other rotators.

Vercollone

  • Dr. Vercollone is a great teacher. He demonstrates how to think logically and creatively. He is also an easy-going person and creates a casual environment to relieve work-related stress.
  • Good teacher, very approachable if any questions.
  • I enjoyed working with Dr. Vercollone. He knows his subject thoroughly and also encourages us to think about our all cases. He is a great supervisor and is very supportive and has been working hard to get ancillary support which is much needed at this time. Wish could work with him in outpatient clinics as well.
