Peripheral nerves are the nerves outside the brain and spinal cord that transmit messages throughout the body. Peripheral nerve disorders distort or interrupt messages transmitted by these nerves. There are more than 100 kinds of peripheral nerve disorders and they can affect one or many nerves.
