Research + Clinical Trials
Patients suffering from chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) with polyps (CRSwNP) may be offered pre-operation treatments. While the gross effect of some of these treatments, such as prednisone have been investigated at a gross, cell population level, these studies are generally focused on a subset of the cells found in the tissue, often solely the immune cells. The effect of these treatments on the tissue as a whole, including the underappreciated complexity of the epithelium itself, is a major gap in current knowledge. We are proposing to collect discarded polyp tissue following resection in patients suffering from chronic rhinosinusitis with and without these treatments to determine specific effects these treatments may be having on distinct cell types.
