Ventral Hernia

A hernia happens when part of an internal organ or tissue bulges through a weak area of muscle. Most hernias are in the abdomen. With a ventral hernia (or epigastric hernia), part of the intestines protrude through the abdominal muscles located between the chest and belly button.
