Audiology

Overview

The Department of Audiology helps children, adults and older adults with their hearing issues so they can live a better quality of life. Our team has an unmatched depth of experience - our department has been treating patients with hearing problems for more than 50 years, and our team members are state licensed and nationally certified.

We treat the full range of hearing disorders including infants born with hearing loss, eardrum perforations, middle ear infections, VIII cranial nerve lesions and noise-induced hearing loss to name a few.  We see many people who are challenging to test or who are multi-handicapped. Finally, we partner with interpreters to treat patients who are non-English speakers or who communicate via American Sign Language.

As a teaching hospital, we’re involved in ongoing research and give presentations at state and national conferences. We also train Otolaryngology residents and audiology doctoral interns in the latest audiology therapies – which we use with our patients too.
